CIRCULATION DESK

This area serves as a main source of information for students, faculty, and researchers regarding the collection and the services that the library offers. This facility can be found directly after entering the main entrance of the UP SURP Library.

The Information Desk is there to assist you during your visit to the library. The Information Desk answers inquiries on how to borrow books and resources, on thesis dissertations, on information regarding certain library resources, and other issues. They are also the ones responsible for handling online queries and requests.

READING AREAS

The reading areas of the UP SURP Library house not only the collection of the library but also the comfortable working stations for the users. Charging ports are also available throughout the different reading areas of the library.

First Floor Reading Area

Al Fresco Coffee Nook/
Reading Area

Second Floor Reading Area

Located at the first floor of the library, just next to the information desk, the tables and chairs are dedicated for studying - individual or with a group. Only contained drinks are allowed in the reading area. A priority table is also dedicated for senior citizens, PWD, and pregnant women.

Located just outside the library entrances, the Al Fresco Coffee Nook is located at the second floor, while the Al Fresco Reading Area can be found on the second floor. These areas are a good place to read, chat, study, and enjoy the free coffee of the library.

Located at the second floor of the library, after the staircase, the second floor reading area is there to provide ample space for reading and studying. Only contained drinks are allowed in the reading area.

GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT (GAD) CORNER 

This section is located at the third floor of the library. This area is dedicated to promoting and implementing GAD awareness and GAD-related research. The UP SURP supports the fulfillment of the legal mandate of the Philippine Constitution (Article II Section 14) that recognizes the role of women in nation-building; Republic Act 9710 (Magna Carta of Women) that identifies gender mainstreaming as the national strategy for gender and development; and the Republic Act 7192 (Women in Development and Nation Building Act) that promotes the integration of women as full and equal partners with men in development and nation building.

ONLINE PUBLIC ACESS CATALOG (OPAC) STATION

A designated computer terminal is located at the second floor library. This station is the online public access catalog, which is a tool to directly access TUKLAS, UP Diliman's resource discovery tool - enabling users to search across millions of print and electronic materials from the different libraries of the University of the Philippines System.
